In trying to set up the little boy with some Yo Gabba Gabba, I got mesmerized by an ad for…get this: Alvin and the Chipmunks movie. Yes. They’re making a CGI (natch) movie featuring…now here is where I scratch my head: Jason Lee.

I’m sorry, but are the people of my generation who are now running the studios so desperate for their childhoods that we have to rehash every friggin’ thing? Okay, I’ll be the first to say that the new stuff, Surf’s Up, Over the Hedge or that weird cow movie were amazingly lame and boring. Yeah, you grow up on angst, sensationalized news and Saved by the Bell funny things happen to your brains. But does that excuse the amazing lack of originality (Hairspray movie, begats Hairspray musical which begets Hairspray movie. WTF???)? I don’t think it does.

Yes, I have to admit that I watch three trailers edit three different ways and I still laughed. My goodness, I know I’m going to watch this thing.
