inside the mind of an opinionated mama…

Well, that took forever

Since Giuliani didn’t win a damn thing ever and has finally dropped out of the race, now he won’t be on stage tonight in Simi Valley. It was bullshit that CNN and MSNBC both allowed him to continue being in the debates, since it was obvious he wasn’t a viable candidate. Dennis Kucinich was ejected from both infotainment channel’s debates and he had more delegates (1) than Giuliani (0) did.

Oh happy days!

9iu11iani (h/t to ejmw for that one) is out! I love it. It’s said he’s going to endorse McCain. What a shame. The first primary/caucus where he didn’t come in 4th, 5th, or 6th.

I want to say that I’m proud of people for not voting for 9/11 Giuliani. And this is hilarious:

“We’ll stay involved and together we’ll make sure that we’ll do everything we can to hand our nation off to the next generation better than it was before,” he said.

Yeah…so endorse the so-called “maverick” who doesn’t have an original idea and only wants more wars like you. I’m sure the next generation would adore fighting in illegal wars that started before they were born.

I wonder if this means Ron Paul will be uninvited to the GOP debates tomorrow.

Right Said, Fred. I”m Out

h/t to BooMan, Think Progress is reporting that Fox News is reporting that Fred Thompson is dropping out of the presidential race.

From CNN:

“Today I have withdrawn my candidacy for president of the United States,” Thompson said in a statement.

“I hope that my country and my party have benefited from our having made this effort. Jeri and I will always be grateful for the encouragement and friendship of so many wonderful people.”

As the first comment at TP says:

Will anyone even notice?

Good golly!

In the statement, Thompson did not say whether he would endorse any of his former rivals. He was one of a handful of members of Congress who supported Arizona Sen. John McCain in 2000 in his unsuccessful race against George W. Bush for the party nomination. (MSNBC)

Actually you should read the MSNBC article. It’s pretty amazing in it’s objective look at Thompson’s campaign. Nowhere does it acknowledge how big a role the media performed in creating the hype. From Thompson first being mentioned back in Marck (media!) to the lazy meme (media), the article reads as if these “facts” just happened. Stunning.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see Rudy go next. He has 1 delegate, has come in 5th or 6th in all the races so far, is losing money with his top staff forgoing salaries and has decided for whatever reason [coughhangingchadscough] to only focus on Florida. I’m not a political analyst or anything, but I think with Thompson gone and Rudy possibly close to following, Bloomberg will definitely through his hat in the ring. I really hope not. If my friends in NYC can’t stand Bloomberg, there has to be a reason.

Shorter Rudy: Old white guys only

From First Read:

Asked at a house party whether his cabinet would be made up an “old boys network” Giuliani said it was presumptuous to discuss who would be in his administration, and referenced a book on how Abraham Lincoln selected his political rivals for his cabinet.

“The cabinet would look like last night’s debate,” he said, before adding, “with one exception.”

Wouldn’t it have just been easier for him to say ‘yes’ instead of playing coy?

To read the post at First Read, they seem to think that the “with one exception” line is more important than the fact that Giuliani just said that women and minorities have no place in his cabinet.

Giulani wanks it to 9/11

Childish title, sure. But I’m fed up with this shriveled fuck. I’ve been done with him since 2001. It’s going on 8 years later and this is Mr. One Hit Wonder:

He flatlined in Iowa and he’s struggling in New Hampshire, but Rudy Giuliani shook off the early-state blues Thursday as only he can.

“None of this worries me - Sept. 11, there were times I was worried,” Giuliani said.

Joe Biden was right.

What’s wrong with this guy? Seriously. The only other person to abuse 9/11 more is shrubya.

IOWA CAUCUS: Huckabee wins Iowa

At least CNN and MSNBC are both calling Iowa for the Huckster. This should be interesting and I’m not at all surprised that people in Iowa fell for his schtick. And yes, even though I despise Huckabee and think of him as nothing more than a one-trick pony, I see the Corporate Republicans are scared of his message and that tickles me to no end. I can’t wait to see how the money flows as these primaries go on.

I’m not shocked that Giuliani’s numbers are so ridiculously low. My hope is that this means the media will stop trying to force President Drag Queen on us.

Now, I wonder if this means Romney is going to dump more money into New Hampshire. After all, the papers there and in nearby states have either “anti-endorsed” him or endorsed someone else. I’d also be interesting in seeing how Romney does in the Wyoming Caucus on Saturday (It’s GOP only).

Hysterical Raisins does it again

Damn, that was fast. I wanted to see if my fauxBFF had anything up on HR regarding the debates. Instead, I got treated to this.

Love the tagline.
