Obama endorsements

Did you see it? Did you see the endorsements the Clinton’s have been trying to prevent? Did you see Patrick, Caroline and Edward Kennedy endorse Sen. Obama? Oh, it was wonderful, especially Sen. Kennedy’s speech. He basically put the smackdown on the Clinton’s and their campaign tactics.

“There was another time, when another young candidate was running for president and challenging America to cross a New Frontier,” Kennedy said. “He faced public criticism from the preceding Democratic president, who was widely respected in the party. Harry Truman said we needed ’someone with greater experience’ — and added: ‘May I urge you to be patient.” And John Kennedy replied: ‘The world is changing. The old ways will not do … It is time for a new generation of leadership.’”

And…

Kennedy certainly had the Clintons in mind when he said Obama would be “ready to be president one Day One.” (AP)

It was a great speech and Obama’s speech afterwards was remarkably different than his usual ones. This speech, he talked about his family and tied his dad’s educational opportunities to JFKs actions in Congress. Here’s the video

Horrible writer and nincompoop Toni Morrison also endorsed Obama. Now, I should mention that the reason Morrison is a nincompoop is that she’s the tool who said that Bill Clinton was our “first black president”. Stupid and insulting. I get that certain kinds of people like to believe it because it makes them feel good about themselves, but Morrison was so incredibly wrong for saying that.

Her decision, she continued, is rooted in the prospect of finding a prescient leader. (“In addition to keen intelligence, integrity and a rare authenticity, you exhibit something that has nothing to do with age, experience, race or gender and something I don’t see in other candidates. That something is a creative imagination which, coupled with brilliance, equals wisdom,” she wrote.)
