It itches

The reason I’ve been quiet lately is that I didn’t want to post complaint blogs.  As you may remember, I’m allergic to my sweat and to latex.  It’s been really, really, really hot lately and I developed a full body rash.  :( Today is a little cooler and I’m not Ms. Crankypants anymore.  It still itches, but not as bad as the past week.  I may even be able to leave the house once it clears from my face, neck and arms.

Uncomfortable

So…my body hates me. Here’s the deal. I’m allergic to my own sweat, if that makes any sense. I get a light rash when I sweat heavily, which I do a lot. Ugh. It didn’t used to be so bad, but back in ‘01 I got this really bad rash and learned (confirmed) that I had a latex allergy. This meant that where my underwear bands touched, it would rash, especially if when I sweat. And since that’s where sweat tends to accumulate (gravity people!), it gets…bad. So, the doctor said, “Hey, if you lose weight it may not be so bad.” ??? I sweat. Skinny or fat, I sweat. It’s what I do. It’s like my calling card. LOL! In ‘04, I got a full body rash. From my head to my toes. Talk about uncomfortable. I thought I was going to kill someone. Oh yeah that…see, when I’m uncomfortable lash out. I’m mean and I don’t want to talk to anyone at all. Imagine me pregnant and with that rash. It was brutal. Anyway, I have to watch what I eat (some produce triggers the allergy) and keep from sweating.

Needless to say, going to the gym has become pretty uncomfortable for me. Usually, I look forward to fall and winter just for the respite from the rash. Sadly, it’s been in the mid-80s for the past 3 days and it’s coming back. Bad. The trigger? Aloe Vera and Cucumber lotion. It’s the cucumber that’s doing it! Yeah, I feel soft and smell good, but I itch like a mutha and I’m getting very cranky.
