]]> By: Bendygirl http://faboomama.com/2008/06/23/is-the-carlin-corpse-fucking-done/comment-page-1/#comment-1987 Bendygirl Mon, 21 Jul 2008 14:56:22 +0000 http://faboomama.com/?p=1430#comment-1987 I loved Carlin, but not for the political crap or the dirty words.  It was for his common every day stuff like when he went to his grandmother's and she always tried to feed him "garbage".  She'd say things like, "well, if you don't eat it, I'll just have to throw it away."  It was like he was channeling my grandmothers!!  He even had this bit about buying a house to hold stuff.  And then you need a bigger house cause you want more stuff and when you go on vacation, you have to pack and unpack your stuff...really, very funny.  But he was also a libertarian and I didn't find that side of him particularly funny or insightful.  If I want funny insight, I can read Doonsbury or Tom Tomorrow. I certainly don't need the preachy tone of a Carlin (although I do like the tone of Al Franken, but that's a whinier tone thing, and again, I'm off track).
