How did you ever manage to find a quote from my old Congressman, Dennis Eckart? My mom tells a story about him from those elections of long ago. He came in and had a coffee. Sat in her booth less than an hour and handed her a $5 bill. The same week, his opponent came into the restaurant and mom got to wait on her. The woman, sat in mom's booth for nearly 4 hours and left mom 25 cents.Mom told everyone that came in how cheap and inconsiderate this woman was and how considerate, helpful and honest Dennis Eckart was when he came in. The $5 spoke volumes to her and it meant honesty, helpfulness and the ability to get the job done, to her at least. To this day, Dennis can do no wrong and she wishes he'd run again and represent our old Ohio district. His replacement has been nothing but a corrupt disappointment, Mr. Steve I-screw-lobbyists-while-married LaTourette.

Hey check out Bendygirls latest blog entry, <a href="http://uniongal.blogspot.com/2008/04/kiss-half-your-pay-check-goodbye.html" rel="nofollow">Kiss Half Your Pay Check Goodbye</a>, at http://uniongal.blogspot.com

I think what's really interesting about this is how many people were doom & gloom about Clinton at that time, of course he went on to win. I think people are making too big of a deal about the Obama/Clinton split. There's a lot of positives going on with the Dems right now too - the huge turnout and fund raising numbers being the two most obvious. Not to mention that McCain represents 4 more years of one of the most unpopular presidents in history. Yeah, I think this is doable.
