So here it is, almost 6:30 am. I’m up and excited because it’s election day. So many awesome races all around the county. It’s time for a change people and throughout the whole county, there is the option.
I’d love to do a race breakdown by state, but I should have thought of that sooner, eh? Here’s some people who rock my world:
Vic Wuslin (Con-OH)
Linda Stender (Con-NJ)
John Tester (Sen-MT)
Phil Angelides (Gov-CA)
Charlie Brown (Con-CA) Met this guy, he’s awesome. I told him that as great as my rep is, and Waxman does in fact rock, I’d be willing to move up to his district when he wins.
Paul Hodes (Con. - NH)
Ned Lamont (Sen-CT)
Darcy Burner (Con-WA)
Gary Trauner (Con-WY) Read about this guy last nigt, checked out his website and was extremely impressed.
There’s many others, but I’m bored with that part. I just want to urge you to vote and to ignore all the lies, distortions and slime from any ads you may have seen and just vote for a change. We need to change the direction of the county.
I’m very concerned about all the voter suppression and fraud that seem to be going on.
- Please make sure that everyone knows that no one needs to show a picture ID to vote anywhere. Check with your Registrars office, but I’m sure you can vote with just a utility bill or something with your name and address on it.
- Please make sure that people know that the election has not been cancelled despite the typical Republican tactics of leafleting Democratic and African-American neighborhoods with flyers that insinuate that.
- If you or someone you know, receives a call telling you that you’re no longer registered, get as much info as you can and contact your local election official. People throughout the south have been getting calls, in some cases asking how they were going to vote. If they said a Democrats name, then they were told that they were no longer allowed to vote in the area. That’s just stupid.
- I’m sure by now you all know about the robocalls from the RNC that pretend to be from the Democratic party. There’s no low these people will stoop too.
- And finally, all the electronic voting. There have been reports already this mroning of trouble with some machines not logging votes correctly. Once again, if you use these machines and it’s not logging your votes right the first time, don’t give up, get help and immediately contact your election official AND your local Democratic party, as they’re keeping tabs nationwide of voter fraud.
Random voter bits:
I must admit I have big time issues with stupid people voting. I hear some people talk and I think, “Please don’t let this fool drive, vote or breed.” It scary.
Like the mouthbreather on TV the other day who said that when the Democrats win, everyone’s going to have abortions. Um…maybe I missed the forced abortions bit. People who think like that are complete and total idiots. Then again, I think people who vote solely on social issues are the most vapid morons to ever walk the earth. I figure their world is like, “My Lord, I may not be able to get healthcare for my children, I make just above poverty and there’s no affordable housing, but I’ll be damned if two gay people I don’t even know are going to get the same legal rights as me and my spouse!” Yeah, those are the same types that probably wouldn’t have given blacks the rights the vote or allowed Jews to buy property in certain areas. You can see their racism in the whole illegal immigration thing. Pretty fucking pathetic people. I really hope their kind don’t breed.
Know who else bugs me? The people who don’t pay attention to politics, but always spout the “Both parties are the same”/”Lesser of two evils” BS line. Those people shouldn’t be allowed to vote either. They’re like clueless twit in front of you at the coffee store, “I’d like a latte. No. A mocha. NO! A latte.” You knew you were going into a coffeeshop, you stood in line, how did you not make a decision before then? For the record, my husband often falls into this camp. Infuriating. Most of these people make their decision in the voting booth. That’s scary.
Other’s who really shouldn’t vote are the people, especially the married women who vote how their family votes or how their husband tells them to vote. Women put too much on the line for us to just throw away our votes like that. If your husband’s telling you how to vote, then you’re an idiot for doing it. It’s 2006. I know the US was the last country to give women the right to vote, but you do have that right. Use it.
The one thing I am happy about is how many younger people are active in the political process. Too many people my age or older that I know or talk to, just talk about the most boring stuff. Celebrity, TV crap no one cares about. Yawn. I’m sorry, but if you can tell me the details of a 3 year TV show and not tell me who’s running for representative in your area, you’re a useless waste of space.
Well, I have a lot to do today, so I’m going to start getting ready. Happy voting!
