Some random stuff

Here are some random photos we took in May:

Ilia playing with her new RC car. She really loves RC cars, loves them so much she breaks them. I think she’s gone through 5 of them so far.

Captive prisoner! There’s no stopping Ilia when she wants to do your hair. Gotta keep moving in this place.
In between all the craziness of YK stuff and work, I had to repot the plants and I bought new ones to pot, so Miss Ilia helped me and Alton watched from the sidelines.

Ilia pretending to be angry. Isn’t she scary?

Miss Ilia read to us about Miss Spider.

Alton likes Raekwon…he gobbled up that CD!

We went from winter straight to summer and Alton needs to keep cool

So, I bought a little wading pool for the kiddies. I never realized that my children were such total freaks. First off, Alton hated the pool. Secondly, Ilia is just plain weird. She refuses to sit in the pool. Why? Because her swimming suit will get wet. My goodness. So it’s been 2 months and she still won’t sit down in the pool. Crazy kid.

Santa Barbara

We had to shoot 8 sites from the upper reaches of hell, I mean the San Fernando Valley, all the way up to Santa Barbara. So we spent the night in Santa Barbara as a microvacation. Note to self: microvacations suck.

Alton in the car. Pretty happy after his diaper change.

It looks like we have a rental and I’m trying to remember why. Strange. Okay, I was just informed we had the rental because (duh) we can’t fit luggage AND a stroller in the back of the MINI. Anyway, we got to Santa Barbara and wound up eating at the IHOP across the street from the hotel because apparently everything closes at 9m. Ugh. Anyway, it was a little nice to be away from home. It was funny, the hotel kept bringing us cribs. Like 3 or 4 of them. They looked perplexed when I kept turning them away, saying, “We already have one!” I would suggest they speak to each other or convey somehow that someone had already put the crib in the room. The room we had had a cool patio that opened up onto the lagoon. The lagoon was neat. There were ducks and frogs there, with a bridge that, just like Ted Stevens wet-dream, went to nowhere.

Happy Birthday, Ilia

Ilia turned 3. Can you believe it? We took cupcakes up to her school for the kiddies. When we walked in, we saw this on this wall:

How cute is that? They took a pic of her that day and made the poster with all the kids handprints on it.

Alton gets in the party mood

We took Ilia to Fogo de Chao for her birthday dinner. Here she is wearing her birthday tiara while talking to Grandma on the telephone.

I still can’t believe she’s 3. She’s grown so much and is such a sweet (mostly) and funny girl. I hope she has a wonderful year. I know she’ll remember this year at least. It’s amazing the stuff she remembers and can recount. It’s also scary how much she pays attention to what we say. Gotta watch our mouths and behaviours. Nothing like a shadow to keep you honest, eh?

Easter

As usual, we went down to Adrian’s mom’s house for Easter. It was fun. Okay, not really but it’s what we do. I can not relive the horror that was the meal. Let’s just say, we were really happy we ate a Jack-in-the-Box before we got down there. Here’s some pics.

Adrian took close up pics of the kids, they came out nice, but here’s a few.

These were some pics we took before we went to Grandma’s house.

Long time no post, eh?

I feel a little bad. I haven’t really updated my blog since April. I missed my kid’s birthday, Mother’s Day, Memorial Day, Father’s Day, etc…so there’ll be loads of pics and updates here. I’m going to run through and just post crap with descriptions along with an update (finally!) on the success of YearlyKos.
