Bouncy Baby and more pictures

Man o’ war! This kid is active. I thought Ilia was a very active baby. This kid bounces around inside from 11am until 11pm. Non-stop. I was actually worried this morning, there was practically no movement for almost 3 hours. I came thisclose to calling the doctor. Anyway, around noon he started up again and well, here we are.

Can I say how grateful I am that I am able to eat spicy foods while pregnant. I’ve heard of women who get heartburn or their mouths are too sensitive to take spicy foods. I’d just die if I couldn’t have spicy foods. The only thing that’s “too much” for my mouth is soda. Since it makes me nauseaous anyway, who cares? The other day, we ate at Bombay Grill, one of the best Indian places in LA and it’s cheap too. Then yesterday, I was craving buffalo shrimp and wings from Hooters, so we went to the one on Hollywood Blvd.

Goodness gracious, can I tell you how craptacular Hollywood Blvd. has become. I kinda liked the seediness of it before. Kept the tourist at bay, you know? Now? It’s like a couple of blocks of Disneyland. Puke. I blame that Hollywood and Highland monstrosity. If you’re coming to LA from any part of the US, why oh why would you visit this place? There isn’t anything uniquely “Los Angeles” about it. Okay, the Mann’s Chinese is attached to it. BFD. Okay, it really is a BFD.

But you know what? None of that matters when you have a 2 year old who hasn’t been up there since she was 1 and sees her favorite character of all time. That’s right. Darth Vader was there:

She saw Cookie Monster and oohed and aahed. She saw Spiderman and Goofy, but she has no idea who they are. She even took a picture with Elmo:

But while she was taking a picture with Elmo, her eyes were on Vader. We said goodbye to Elmo and Miss Ilia bolted out of her stroller to see “Vader! Vader!”. Obviously, she was happy. While we were in Hooters, she fell off her chair onto her head. I held her and asked her if she wanted to go outside. We went outside and the tears dried up fast when she realized that VADER was outside.

So yesterday was good. I ate Hooters, Ilia met Vader and Adrian got to drive us around. HAHAHA…actually yesterday may not have been so good for Adrian. We worked and he had to do even more work when we got home. Poor thing.

Oh, we got more pics from San Francisco too. Our friend Poppy, who has safely arrived in Africa sent us pics. [standing on soapbox] Poppy. Sweetie. You were here for 2 months. I know you took more than 4 pics of my family. WHERE THE HECK ARE THEY??? [putting away soapbox] Okay, so here are the photos:

Ilia and some kids. The little girls weren’t exactly nice to her, but she adored that little boy.

Ilia and Visalia. Ilia decided that Visalia was way more cooler than the kids. She spent the rest of the evening playing with her.

The happy couple. I had no idea this pic was even taken. Thanks!

San Francisco Photos

Miss Cuteness eating the the hotel restaurant.

We just got back from San Francisco. I really needed the vacation, even though I’m in pain from all the walking. When we left, I was in anger mode because of the criminal actions of this so-called government in leaving the poor people in LA, MS and AL to fend for themselves. I don’t have cable so I had no idea what TV watchers saw. Our hotel room had cable and my goodness…I thought I was angry before. I literally have been crying and ranting over this for the last week. At this point, nothing I say will be original, especially if you’ve been in the same room with me for any amount of time, so I’ll leave it at that. I just hope that everyone who voted for this current administration has taken the time to think about how this so-called gov’t would have responded if they didn’t have warning. That should give you pause.

Anyway, here are the pics from the trip. Not a lot of interesting touristy photos. We mostly hung with friends and friends of friends. Everyone was nice and we ate lots of great food. Man was it cold! When we left here, it was almost 90 degrees. It was in the mid-60s in SF. In September! We all had to get all new clothes. Not a bad deal, though we all looked like Gap and Old Navy ads for a few days.

The family at the Palace of Fine Arts. If you haven’t seen this place in person, you should get to SF NOW. I had no idea it was there until this trip. I was blown away that something like that was actually in America. I’m still in shock.

Ilia with a kitty. Poppy’s friend had 2 new kittens, Mojo and Tiger Lily. I think Ilia’s holding Mojo. They were too cute for words. I’m trying to teach her to be gentle.

Friends cooking.

Me and some friends

More friends eating and chit-chatting

3 of the cutest kids ever! Most of you know how I feel about other people’s kids, but these kids were so cute and so funny. They were also so incredibly sweet to Ilia.

Another pic of the kiddos in the wagon. So sweet it’ll make your teeth fall out, eh?

Another stink-face from a different kid!

Twin sister does not make stink-faces, but she’s so incredibly sweet she shouldn’t do it anyway. Hey, notice the beached whale in the background? That’s me at 6 months pregnant. Ugh.

So that’s a small fraction of the pics here. I have more, but I’m pretty tired and need to get up early tomorrow for a photo shoot and to take my POS car into the dealership again. If you’re in the photos, I can email you the pics if you like, just drop me a line. I’ll try to email out the other pics that I didn’t post here.

Apologies to friends, family, family friends and friends of family who we didn’t get in contact with before we left. The trip kinda snuck up on us and we didn’t have time to let you all know we’d be in town. Next time. This was our last hurrah before the new baby came, so I hope you understand.
